Kelly Fischer graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education, and also received a Bachelors of Arts in Middle Level Education. She student-taught in 5th grade at Denver Elementary School, Denver, IA, and went on to teach 6th & 7th grades at Tripoli Middle School, Tripoli, IA.

Mrs. Fischer also has a Middle School Endorsement and Coaching Endorsement. She has taught fourth, sixth and seventh grades and Physical Education at Trinity, and has served as one of our volleyball coaches.

Leslie Drees

Leslie Drees is a graduate of Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a K-12 Instrumental Music endorsement and a K-8 Classroom Music endorsement. Leslie has taught at Trinity since 2006. In addition to teaching band and music, she is also the Kindergarten-4th grade PE instructor.

Judy Schroeder

Judy Schroeder attended Lyons Township Jr. College in Illinois and the University of Wisconsin in Madison, where she received her BS.

Judy has been a home economics agent in Outagamie County, Wisconsin. She was a vocational school teacher in Neenah, Menasha, Wisconsin. She taught at Appleton Sr. High in Appleton, Wisconsin. She teaches art and 7th & 8th grade life skills at Trinity.   Art & Life Skills Class Page

Choir & Language Arts 

Susan Benya

Mrs. Benya teaches 6th-8th grade Language Arts and 4th-8th grade Choir. 

She attended Ohio State University where she received Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Music Education degrees. She holds a Master of Music degree, a Certificate in Sacred Music from Yale University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Iowa.  Susan also serves as Director of Music at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Susan is a lifelong church musician, accompanist, and music coach, and has taught at Trinity Lutheran School, Kirkwood Community College, Coe College, and Mount Mercy University. 

Susan and her husband, Jon, are both Ohio natives and have two teenage children who are graduates of Trinity Lutheran School.
