The calendar year goes from January 1 to December 31. The church has a “calendar year” too, but it begins with the season of Advent, which is comprised of the four weeks before Christmas. This year, the first Sunday in Advent was November 29. The word Advent means “coming,” referring to the coming of Jesus Christ at Christmas to be the Savior of the world. During the season of Advent, many churches have special devotions and worship services to mark the days and weeks leading up to Christmas and to help us prepare for Christ to come.
If your church doesn’t offer Advent services, or if you are not connected to a church, I would like to cordially invite you to join the Trinity family for special Advent services each Wednesday during Advent at either noon or 6:00 PM. A light meal will follow the noon services and will precede the evening services at 5:00 PM. Here’s our schedule and theme for each week:
Wednesday, December 2: Christ, Our Hope (1 Timothy 1:1)
Wednesday, December 9: Christ, Our Joy (Luke 2:10-11)
Wednesday, December 16: Christ, Our Peace (Micah 5:5a; Ephesians 2:14a)
We also offer Christmas worship services as follows:
Thursday, December 24: Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship at 6:00 PM & 9:00 PM
Friday, December 25: Christmas Day Worship at 9:00 AM
Thursday, December 31: New Year’s Eve Worship at 6:00 PM
God’s blessings to you and your family as we prepare for Jesus to come!
