Happy New Year!

For many people the new year is a chance to start over and to resolve to do better in some aspect of their life that they feel needs improving.

When I think of the things I need to do better in my life, I remember the fresh start I get whenever I confess my mess ups to God.  When I tell God I’m sorry, He forgives me unconditionally, and I am free to “start over.”  We all are when we come to God with our wrongdoings.  We don’t have to wait for a new year or a new day, God’s forgiveness is new and immediate.

Just as in Christ, God has forgiven us, let’s allow one another fresh starts after they have wronged us.  Forgiveness gives those who have hurt us to the chance to “start over.”  It also frees us from the misery of holding a grudge against someone or being angry with them.
